BRUTE BASAR is back with its 6th edition — bigger, bolder and more immersive than ever.

This year, BRUTE takes on a new dimension. The race will coincide with the opening day of BasCon — Basar’s landmark cultural festival, bringing together the spirit of Music, Cuisine and Culture in one unforgettable celebration.

The journey begins at the ITBP (Indo-Tibetan Border Police) Grounds in Basar, taking runners through the breathtaking trails of the region before culminating at the BasCon festival venue. At the finish line, runners will be welcomed in the traditional Galo style, turning the completion of the race into a celebration of endurance, community and culture.

Whether you are a seasoned ultra-runner, an endurance enthusiast or embarking on your first trail adventure, BRUTE 6.0 is your opportunity to step beyond your limits and discover what you are truly capable of.

Establishing an annual ultra-running festival in Basar, Arunachal Pradesh, featuring various ultra-running races catering to different skill levels and distances, attracting runners and enthusiasts from around the world.

REACHING BASAR

Airport

The nearest airport to Basar is Dibrugarh Airport, Assam, about 155 km (4-hour drive) away. Cabs are available from Dibrugarh to Basar. Alternatively, you can fly to Donyi Polo Airport, Itanagar, 281 km (7-hour drive) from Basar, with regular Bus/Winger services from Itanagar.
Please note that travelers must present an ILP/PAP at the entry check gate in Likabali & Donyi Polo Airport.

Road

Basar is 155 km (4-hour drive) from Dibrugarh and 281 km (7-hour drive) from Itanagar, with regular private and government bus/winger services available from Itanagar. Most of the Likabali-Basar highway is complete, with some sections still under construction, but the ride is generally smooth.

Train

The nearest well connected Railway station is Dibrugarh Railway Station in Assam, about 147 km (4-hour drive) from Basar, with cabs available for hire. Alternatively, you can travel to Naharlagun Railway Station, regular Bus/Winger services are available from Itanagar & Naharlagun.

Arunachal Pradesh is a protected state under the Bengal Eastern Frontier Regulation Act. All non-residents, whether Indian citizens or foreigners, must obtain permission to enter the state.

*Indian Citizens require an Inner Line Permit (ILP).
*Foreigners need a Protected Area Permit (PAP).

ILP/PAP must be shown at all entry points (check gates). ILP for Indian Citizens can be obtained in person at district administration offices or Tourist Facilitation Centres and online at [arunachalilp. (https://arunachalilp.com/).

PAP for Foreigners can be obtained through a registered tour operator.
